Discover a world of possibilities

INTRODUCTION: COLD SEASON

As we slide into the colder months once more, it becomes more pertinent to discuss the importance of maintaining a balanced internal terrain. This wonderful concept of ‘balanced terrain’ is not restricted to the environments surrounding us, but rather, it pertains to our internal bodily environment. Our bodies, quite like Mother Nature herself, require a harmony of sorts to work at their optimal capacity.

Winter, with its severity, often provokes potential imbalances within us, making our bodies more prone to a state of dis-ease. This susceptibility spreads not from an onslaught of germs, but from the potential imbalances within — a terrain disrupted. It is, therefore, of absolute importance that we take more conscious care of our bodies, particularly our vital organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys and brain during this phase.

Effectively, our nutrition and physical activity play a significant role in maintaining this balance. We can strengthen our internal terrain, our PNS (peripheral nervous system) and CNS (central nervous system) by fostering a more mindful relationship with the fuels we consume and the exercises we partake in. After all, the food we ingest and the activities we engage in directly impact our bodily functions at a cellular level.

Let’s embark on this transformational journey together, towards understanding, nurturing and strengthening our internal terrains, particularly laying more focus on our colder months companionship.

Section II: The Vital Importance of Nutrition

The primary essence of our health begins with what we feed our bodies. The importance of nutrition exceeds beyond just satisfying our taste buds. It acts as the driving force behind the body’s ability to remain at ease and stay clear of dis-ease, enabling us to align harmoniously with the rhythms of Mother Nature.

1. The Correlation between Proper Nutrition and the Body’s Immune Response

Our relationship with nutrition influences our immune response at a profound level. The nutrients obtained from our diet serve as building blocks supporting the protective functions of our immune system. They impact the production, growth, and functioning of immune cells, dictating the efficiency of our immune response.

For instance, nutrients like vitamin D3, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, selenium, iron, protein, and others are crucial for maintaining a strong immune system. The absence of these essential nutrients can destabilize our immune balance, making our divine vessel susceptible to various pathogens and external harmful elements. Vitamin D3 has enough research to have a blog of it’s own so I will leave you with this, if you live in northern states make sure to get third party tested vitamin D3 at least 2,000iu a day (ex: my grandmother is just over 65 and had to up her D3 dose From 2,000iu daily to over 5,000Iu because she was already low in the month of October). Optimal Vit D3 levels are 40-80ng/mL and can be checked via a blood panel which can be pricey without a Drs prescription, but worth the investment to know where you are yearly.

2. The Bearing of Certain Foods on a Balanced Internal Terrain

Citrus fruits, leafy greens, whole grains, and lean protein sources don’t just gratify our taste; they play a pivotal role in maintaining a vital internal terrain that supports key structures like the heart and liver.

Citrus fruits, rich in vitamin C, fortify our immune system and aid the production of white blood cells, the body’s key soldiers against infections. Leafy greens, packed with vitamins A, C, and E, act as antioxidants and support our immune health.

Whole grains carry an array of B-vitamins, fiber, and minerals like iron, magnesium, and selenium. They contribute to enhanced heart health, stable blood sugar levels, and robust gut health. Lean proteins, on the other hand, provide essential amino acids that help repair body tissues and support the growth and functions of our immune cells.

3. Nutrient-Rich Recipes Ideal for Cold Months

As the cold months creep in, our bodies require a touch more care and warmth. Warming soups enriched with nutritious powerhouses like legumes, grains, and vibrant vegetables can provide a delightful and nutrient-packed meal.

Consider a hearty lentil / chicken noodle soup spiced just right and brimming with a mix of earthy root vegetables. Alternatively, a nice southern style roast packed with protein, plenty of vegetables and broth is a great way to maintain optimal health in the winter. These offerings not only warm your soul but also foster a solid terrain that promotes radiant health and wellness.

Embrace the path of nutritional enlightenment and allow your body to discover its innate power of healing and wellbeing.

Section III – The Role of Exercise in Cold Months

Exercise is a wonderful solution that works phenomenally in maintaining our internal balance, and more so during the colder months of the year. It not just tones the physical form, but equally fine-tunes the subtler networks within us, predominantly our CNS and PNS.

Physical activity, when performed regularly (3-4 days a week of mod-vigorous exercise totaling 150 minutes), holds the potential to fuel our immune function, consequently warding off a plethora of potential dis-eases. Exercise actively stimulates the circulation of white blood cells within our system, the fearless guardians of our health. Thereby, it creates a more responsive and vigilant immune system. The beneficial impact of exercise extends to our vital organs as well, especially the heart, liver, and kidneys, improving their overall efficiency and function. Notably, it serves as a tonic to our brain, amplifying its cognitive abilities while simultaneously fostering emotional wellbeing.

As we navigate the frosty weather, some exercises do stand out for their feasibility and effectiveness. Indoor exercises like Resistance training, Yoga, Pilates, or dance-based workouts emerge as excellent choices. If you fancy the great outdoors, even in the nip of the cold, hiking, jogging, or even a brisk walk enveloped in the beauty of winter can be extremely rewarding.

In winter, starting and maintaining a consistent exercise routine might seem unnerving at first. But the key lies in finding an exercise form that resonates with you. Engage in an activity that brings you joy. Make it a part of your daily routine and gradually raise the intensity. Create an exercise schedule and stick to it as diligently as possible. Motivate yourself with personal rewards when you achieve small fitness goals. More importantly, listen to your body, understand its rhythm and work in tandem with it.

Let’s keep our internal terrains, especially our vital organ systems, in balance by making physical activity a non-negotiable part of our winter care regimen!

Section IV: How to Harmonize Nutrition and Exercise

Harmonizing nutrition and exercise begins by building a daily routine. Each individual is unique and can have different energy and nutritive needs, so it’s essential to listen to your body and adjust accordingly. Begin with proper hydration, as our bodies are primarily composed of water. Drink clean, alkaline water first thing in the morning to cleanse your system and hydrate your cells (spring water and alkaline are best forms to avoid forever chemicals in tap water, however, most waters are better than none at all.)

For nutrition, focus on consuming a diet rich in organic, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Reduce processed and refined foods which can often lead to a state of dis-ease within the body. Diversify food options to obtain a variety of plant-based nutrients.

Plan sessions of moderate to intense aerobic activities, body resistance exercises, or calming activities such as yoga and tai chi to keep the body active and engaged. Consider variables like work schedule, personal commitments, and body energy cycles to ensure you can maintain this routine long-term.

2. Discuss Meal Timing and Physical Activity for Optimal Energy and Wellness.

Meal timing and exercise are significant factors that influence your overall wellness and energy levels. It’s recommended to eat a nutrient-dense meal or snack 2-4 hours before engaging in physical activity. This fuels your body and ensures maximum nutrient absorption as your body is active and in demand for energy. Alternatively, for people like me who are a little more gut sensitive, we tend to skip eating and workout in a fasted state then replenish shortly after with plenty of protein especially eggs!

(FUN FACT: you can add salt -like Baja gold- to your water in the morning for extra minerals and electrolytes to give energy for workout vs caffeinated beverages/supps)

After an exercise session or intense physical activity, refuel your body with a balanced meal rich in proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats. This meal helps to restore depleted energy reserves, repair tissues, and promote muscle growth and recovery. I tend to go with non-flavored grass fed whey protein to ensure quality aminos and I add creatine for its CNS and energy systems enhancement. I add this to 16oz of lactose free milk and have the guilty pleasure of adding a tbsp of PB and a tbsp or two of chocolate syrup for sweetness.

3. Present Strategies to Maintain Balance and Consistency in Nutrition and Exercise.

Maintaining balance and consistency in nutrition and exercise is crucial for long-term wellness. Develop a schedule that suits your lifestyle, but simultaneously challenges your body to grow and advance. Incorporate practices of eating mindfully; savoring each bite, chewing thoroughly, and feeling grateful for the nourishment.

Exercise consistently(4-5 days a week), but don’t overdo it. For example, 2+ hours in the gym when not training sport specific often times is unneccessary when you understand how the body works. Rest is just as important as activity for your body to heal and regenerate. Make sure to include rest days in your routine.

Regularly reassess your diet and exercise regimen. Not all activities or foods will serve you well in different life stages or under different environmental conditions. Adapt, adjust, and ensure that body’s nutritive needs are met and that it is in constant synchronicity with the Earth’s natural rhythms.

Remember, our bodies are amazing adaptors capable of healing themselves, so long as we provide them with the right tools and care. Let us respect and nourish our bodies, so that it can continue to serve us with energy, vitality, and well-being. And always remember, BNXT LVL HEALTH is all about promoting balance, harmony, and a deep understanding of our connection with the natural world.

V. How BNXT LVL HEALTH Can Help In Achieving Winter Wellness

Winter can be a challenging time to stay in harmony with nature and to keep our bodies at ease. The lowered temperatures and reduced sunlight can make it more difficult to maintain the balance that is essential for our well-being. At BNXT LVL HEALTH, we recognize these challenges and focus on offering a holistic approach to support you through the winter months.

1. Our Holistic Approach for Proper Nutrition and Regular Exercise

Our bodies are incredibly complex, interconnected systems and achieving wellness is about nurturing and respecting this connection. It’s not just about what we eat or how much we exercise, it’s about how these factors work together and with our overall lifestyle to support our health.

We provide a nutritional guidance that respects the seasonality and encourages incorporation of nutritious foods that are plentiful during winter. These hearty, nutrient-dense foods support the needs of our bodies during the colder months and help maintain the balance of our internal terrain. This approach keeps in mind the capacities of important organs such as our heart, liver, and kidneys, which work relentlessly to maintain a state of ease within us.

In terms of exercise, we recognize that inclement weather can be a deterrent, but we believe in its vitality in keeping our body systems, such as CNS and PNS, performing optimally. We can guide you on exercises that can be done indoors or propose nature-inclusive outdoor activities that offer holistic benefits.

2. Support Systems and Education Tools

At BNXT LVL HEALTH, we believe in the power of community and shared learning. Our support systems and education tools are designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge and guidance to make choices that align with your wellness goals in winter.

We will offer an array of resources such as eBooks, 100% online courses, and blogs focusing on various aspects of holistic health, like the importance of diet and exercise, as well as explanations on the functioning of our complex body systems. These tools offer practical suggestions to help you incorporate habits and routines that allow you to stay in harmony with the season.

3. Live Streams and Webinars for Winter Wellness

We are excited to invite you to our wellness live streams and webinars. These are interactive sessions where you can learn from experts and other members of our community about strategies to stay nourished and active during winter. The sessions not only focus on nutrition and exercise, but also on mental wellness, which is an integral part of holistic health.

In these challenging times, staying connected with like-minded individuals who are on a similar journey or have been there before can be empowering and helpful.

VI. Conclusion

1. Recap on the Importance of Proper Nutrition and Exercise During Cold Months

To conclude, it is obligatory to reiterate the vital role that proper nutrition and regular exercise play in our general wellbeing during the colder months. The cold season is a period in which our bodies need extra support to function optimally. By eating a balanced diet filled with nutrient-dense, organic ingredients, we can provide our organs with the necessary fuel to perform their functions adeptly.

These nutrients aid in fortifying our body’s defenses and enhancing our internal balance, which, in turn, sets the stage for the body to naturally heal itself, strengthening its adaptability against colder temperatures. Concurrently, the core essence of regular exercise isn’t merely about physical fitness or weight management; rather, it’s about boosting our cardiovascular health, enhancing brain function, and our overall systemic harmony. Consistent physical exercise has the ability to keep our bodies warm and our spirits uplifted during the cold season.

2. Harmonize with Our Body and Mother Nature

Moreover, as we strive to maintain our bodies in a state of optimum health and wellness, it is equally important to resonate with Mother Nature. Our endeavor toward nutritional diet and physical exercise should coincide with a conscious effort to harmonize with our environment and its cycles (hypnotic rhythms). By listening to our body’s needs, understanding its reactions to changes in the external or internal environment, we realign ourselves with Mother Nature. In doing so, we encourage our bodies to stay in a state of ease even during the cold months, avoiding the dis-ease that comes from imbalance. So do not be afraid to explore Mother Nature even in colder months, as our bodies were designed to spend more than 80% of our time outdoors. Yet, us Americans spend less than 2% of our day outside even in warmer months.

3. An Inspirational Clause

For me, staying in tune with the rhythm of nature has significantly transformed my perspective on holistic health and wellbeing. Inspired by Mother Nature, I’ve learned that the art of healing doesn’t always mean fighting or struggling, but embracing and flowing. Like a tree in the cold winter months, we must learn to conserve our energy, nourish our roots, and prepare for the new growth that waits in the spring. The more we run away from Mother Nature with pharmacological “advancements” the more we see sickness. This aligns with a quote I hold dear to my heart

– “The art of healing comes from nature, not the physician.” -Paracelsus

Remember, dear friends, the secret to maintaining your best health lies within your own hands. Be proactive and remember what you have been taught here at BNXT LVL HEALTH, and you’ll find life’s harshest seasons easier to bear with the spirit of resilience and vitality. Above all, appreciate the beauty of the human body, and continue to nourish, respect, and listen to it, so you can experience life at its fullest even during the most challenging times.

Q: What’s the core philosophy of BNXT LVL HEALTH?

A: At BNXT LVL HEALTH, we believe in the innate healing ability of the human body, fostering balance with nature and promoting self-awareness. Q: How does the terrain theory fits into BNXT LVL HEALTH’s approach?

A: According to the terrain theory, the state of our body (the ‘terrain’) determines our health. We focus on empowering you to create a supportive environment for your body and its complex systems, like the central nervous system (CNS), peripheral nervous system (PNS), and organs such as the heart, liver, and kidneys. This approach helps to put the body in a state susceptible to healing and growth, rather than in a state of dis-ease.

A: While we respect the germ theory, our focus revolves more around the terrain theory. We believe a healthy internal terrain of the body is less susceptible to germs. However, understanding germ theory helps us to further emphasize the need for balance, self-care and a healthy lifestyle to maintain a supportive body terrain.
